IT & business systems

IT administration that connects people, access and business systems.

Ascent administers the everyday systems behind finance, HR and client delivery. Connect user access and licenses to employee changes, and test the information moving between payroll, expenses and accounting so the result can be reconciled.

For systems that need ongoing attention.

This work fits businesses coordinating multiple applications, a growing team or a system transition that needs clearer ownership.

  • New hires and role changes depend on scattered access requests and approvals.
  • Unused licenses and old permissions remain after people move or leave.
  • Payroll or expense records transfer between systems, but totals or rejected records are not reconciled.
  • A transition or acquisition requires coordinated access changes and verified opening records.

What we take on

Administration tied to the work people do.

Start with the systems already in use. The scope follows your requirements, licensing, permissions and available transfer methods.

Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace

Scope tenant setup, domain configuration and recurring administration around the collaboration systems your business uses.

Identity and email configuration

Set up single sign-on, multi-factor authentication and email authentication within the agreed environment and responsibilities.

Access and license administration

Provision approved users, coordinate offboarding, review access against roles and assignments, and reclaim licenses that are no longer needed.

Payroll and expense interfaces

Review supported APIs or imports, test representative records and failures, and compare source totals with the project cost and general ledger result. Define who resolves exceptions.

System transitions and reconciliations

For an acquisition or system transition, coordinate access and reconcile opening balances, project history and active employee records before cutover.

Unanet implementation and support.

Unanet is Ascent's deepest platform specialty. A separate implementation or support scope can cover project configuration, data migration, reporting, training and administration after go-live.

Explore Unanet implementation & support

Test the workflow from start to finish.

  1. Review systems and dependencies

Identify the current applications, editions, access owners and information each workflow needs to exchange. Review provider requirements and available transfer methods.

  2. Configure and verify the agreed changes

Define approvals and test scenarios, then check access or transferred records against the intended result. Include exceptions and reconciliation in the review.

  3. Assign recurring administration

Document user and license changes, access reviews and interface exceptions. Agree responsibilities and review dates as staffing and project needs change.

Questions before we start

Do we have to use Unanet?

No. We work with existing client systems and assess changes against the business requirements. Unanet is our deepest platform specialty, while Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and the systems around accounting and HR can have their own administration scope.

Can every payroll or expense platform connect directly?

A direct connection is not assumed. Supported APIs or imports, licensing, permissions and provider requirements determine the options. We review the workflow and test the resulting records and reconciliations before agreeing on the approach.

How do access changes connect with HR?

The approved role and assignment determine the access a person needs. We coordinate provisioning, role changes, offboarding and license reclamation with the responsible leaders and HR process, so system administration follows employee changes.

Where is the system work getting stuck?

Bring the access request, license review, interface or reconciliation that needs a clear owner.
